When you're a hospitality company, sometimes you have to prime the pump in order to help people break out of their routines. We gave Wyndham Rewards members a Flash-based microsite that allowed them to create their own "unique and totally believable" excuses for not attending seasonal events—and even allowed their excuses to be shared with like-minded friends. Already, Wyndham has enjoyed a significant lift in revenue, and given that Facebook users have an average of 130 friends, the ongoing viral potential is staggering.
